Maude Richard: Pushing the limits in every direction

When Maude Richard, an account manager at LG2’s Quebec City office, decided to make her home in the city’s Montcalm district, she instantly liked its balance of nature and urban life. The neighbourhood is a perfect complement to her fast-paced lifestyle and stylish home, which showcases an artistic balance of travel photos, paintings and vintage objects found on Marketplace.

A keen enthusiast of art, entrepreneurship and pushing personal boundaries, Maude brings creativity, rigour and a relentless quest for achievement to her career and many hobbies. After a stint at an art gallery early in her career, she rediscovered her passion for painting.

Inspired by the vibrant world around her, she returned to working in watercolours, acrylics and pastels. Then everything changed when she posted her first works on social media: people wanted to buy them! Surprised but motivated, she also started making greetings cards, which she sold in local shops. Soon, her hobby became a lucrative venture.

She then launched momo & cie, a small business dedicated to her artistic creations. She continues to paint, focusing mainly on abstract art, which gives her a sense of total freedom. With each brushstroke, she rediscovers her inner child and is filled with nostalgia for her first creative love: paint-by-number kits.

This new business venture planted a seed that has continued to grow. Enamoured by the idea of combining her artistic and analytical skills, Maude decided to pursue an MBA while working full time at LG2. This education, which she pursued with her characteristic discipline, helped hone her strategic vision and creative approach. She feels these aspects are particularly aligned in her work at LG2, which requires a dynamic balance of logical thinking and artistic drive.

Always on the go, Maude describes herself as a “girl with a thousand projects.” She doesn’t try to hide her hyperactive side, which she sees as a driving force. Being constantly busy – you might even say swamped – fuels her creative spirit and keeps her motivated to face any challenge, whether in her career or her hobbies. She’s an avid outdoor enthusiast, with a particular passion for board sports and running. With four half-marathons and, more recently, a full marathon under her belt, there’s a reason why her motto is, “Why stop at one challenge when you can take on an even bigger one?” We’ll take her word for it!

Since she never stops moving, it’s no surprise that Maude loves to travel. After CEGEP, she spent five months in Asia with two friends, one of whom is now her roommate. This enriching experience nurtured her curiosity and love for new discoveries. She’s always game to explore new places, though her paintbrush is just as capable of taking her on her next adventure as a flight or a hike.

With her entrepreneurial spirit, boundless creativity and insatiable appetite for action, Maude embodies a rare and inspiring equilibrium. Whether picking up a paintbrush, lacing up her runners or tackling a major project at LG2, she always moves forward with determination, guided by the desire to constantly surpass herself and enjoy the beauty in each and every moment.
