lg2 named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

Press release – Montreal, Quebec, May 5, 2021

Creative firm recognized for organizational excellence

lg2 has been named to the elite ranks of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, an exacting competition that has been recognizing organizational excellence in Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $25 million for nearly 30 years.

The jury recognized the overall performance and sustained growth of the largest independent agency in Canada, noting the positive impact on employees, clients and partners, the company’s compelling business vision and forward-looking approach, and its top-flight management practices.

"This distinction is the culmination of years of transformative change and moving in the right direction. It is an outside perspective on who we are and what kind of decisions we make, so that makes it a real source of pride and a true inspiration for the future. We’ve been working to build the future over the past few years with all our employees, and for me this honor is the fruit of all that work," said Claude Auchu, partner and CEO of lg2.

For several years now, lg2 has been employing practices generally found only in much larger companies. Its submission stood out in several respects, including lg2’s strategic planning capability, robust governance, exemplary transition and succession plans, and strong entrepreneurial culture and emphasis on continuous innovation.

The jury also highlighted the fact that lg2 is a company notable for its progressive culture and dedication to openness and equity at all levels. This is reflected in the concern and empathy the company shows daily for the well-being of employees. The jury also noted how quickly and proactively the agency responded in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, both in its decision-making and communications.

“CIBC is particularly proud to recognize the winners in the Canada's Best Managed Companies competition for their success over the past year,” said Dino Medves, Senior Vice-President of CIBC Commercial Banking. “These companies have had to make tough decisions, adapt quickly to a new environment, and continue to innovate and make important investments for the future.”

Each year, hundreds of companies enter this prestigious competition. A rigorous, independent process is used to evaluate their management capabilities and practices. Canada's Best Managed Companies continues to be the country's leading awards program that recognizes Canadian-owned and managed companies for their world-class innovative business practices.
